The Iyamoye/Igbopin/Okealuju Ward of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), representing the entire Ijumu Local Government chapter has dismissed the reported suspension of Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, describing it as a failed coup by political desperados with no standing in the party.
Speaking at a ward meeting on August 5, 2025, ward leader, Otunba Duro Olusegun Aseremaseka condemned Kingsley Oggah and John Adaji over the move, calling for their arrest and prosecution for impersonation and attempts to destabilize the ADC in Ijumu.

The ward leader described those behind the suspension as impostors acting outside the party’s constitution. “They are not recognized and do not speak for us,” Aseremaseka said.
Reaffirming loyalty to Abejide, the ward leader praised his continued support for the people, including paying WAEC fees, despite political betrayals after the last election.
“Our leader is focused on development, not drama. We stand firmly with him, not with any self-imposed coalition of opportunists,” the ward stated.
The Ijumu ADC concluded that there is no place for impostors in the party, insisting Abejide remains the face and future of the ADC.
